I assume you combining these in aqueous solution. Some MgO will react with water to lớn make a dilute solution of Mg^2+ and OH- ions. NaOH in solution is Na+ & OH- ions. There would be no reaction.

It depends on the number of proton to lớn neutralize the base also. The equivalent weight of the acid changes also:
(A) H3B03 + 3NaOH = Na3BO3 + 3H2O
(B) H3B03 + 2NaOH = Na2HBO3 + 2H2O
C) H3B03 + NaOH = NaH2BO3 + H2O
I hope I helped.

Na2O is more basic because by reacting with water it forms strong base, NaOH whereas MgO will size Mg(OH)2 which is a weaker base.

The basic property of a compound depends how easily it releases OH- ions. The small sized cation and having high positive charge on it makes more % covalent character of bond with OH. This causes difficulty in breaking bond between Metal và OH resulting lesser basic nature. InMg(HO)2 và NaOH, size of Mg2+ is smaller than Na+ so Mg-OH bond is stronger than Na-OH bond. Hence release of OH- is easy from NaOH. Hence, NaOH is stronger base than Mg(HO)2

Anhydrous NaOH is a salt in the sense of the definition that salts consist of anions (in this case the hydroxide ion) và cations (the sodium ion) in a regular crystalline pattern (for NaOH at room temperature, an orthorhombic structure). By convention, its basic properties are more relevant, so NaOH is usually called a base - but that doesn"t mean it is not a salt.
